The Vikings came to Ireland in 795AD and gave Dublin or Dubh-Linn, meaning Black Pool, its name. They were in Ireland until King Brian Boru defeated them in 1014. Wood Quay is the site where the remains of a huge Viking settlement was founded in Dublin in the 1970's. The Wood Quay collection captures the essence of these Viking warriors and celebrates their creativity.
